Mock Interviews

Interviewing students using pre-set interview questions

Somebody once said that ‘the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is practice’. We aren’t quite sure as to who said that, but what we do know is that students need to develop their interview skills to present the best version of themselves when the opportunity arises. A number of businesses often attend these events, so it’s also a networking opportunity.

What’s required?
  • It can vary, usually between 1-4 hours of your time (you choose)
  • There’s normally a proforma upon arrival that contains pre-set questions and room for feedback.
x

Mentoring

One to one sessions with students to support them along their journey

We all know that a little help goes a long way. When a student needs a ‘helping hand’, it is categorised as Welfare or Subject related. You then provide the support you can offer in person, remotely or both!

What’s Required?
  • No longer than an hour per session
  • Familiarise yourself with the ‘Mentoring Brief’*
  • We advise that the first session is face to face

Classroom Based Projects

Challenges or vocational projects where students collaborate over a number of sessions

Quite frankly, the UK skills gap doesn’t make for good reading. So with that in mind, classroom based projects have one aim: to align skills sets with industry requirements. There are three approaches with this option: Provide & Participate, Provide or Participate. For Provide, you develop a challenge that is set for students to complete. For Participate, you support a challenge in person or remotely that is set for students to complete. Provide and Participate is a combination of the two. The school leads on the delivery of all projects. Nice and easy.

What’s Required?
  • One or two hours of your time if ‘Participate’ is selected, but this can vary according to personal preference
  • Familiarise yourself with the ‘Classroom Based Projects Brief’*
  • Completion of the ‘Challenge Design Toolkit’ if ‘Provide’ is selected*

*Access to the resource section follows subscription
